Shrimp Is Coming

by Nick

This is just a little picture I came up with to celebrate the wonder of Shrimp Fest at Red Lobster. Red Lobster is a generic crappy seafood place that the other gentlemen and I frequent every September to eat as much shrimp as we possibly can.

Two things always happen: 1) Someone will throw up and 2) Trevor will try to say he ate more then everyone.

Joe Kubert (1926-2012)

by Aaron

I was on my way home when I heard the news of Joe Kubert’s passing. At first, I was a little shocked and taken aback, I mean, this was Joe Kubert, he’s always been with us. As soon as I got home and checked my comic news sites, like I normally do, it hit me. I’m not sure what it was, but seeing an image of Sgt. Rock and his boys made me tear up and realize that someone I had looked up to and drew inspiration from was no longer here. This was a man whose school I had hoped to one day attend and be taught by. This was a man whose war stories made me fall in love with the genre, even more so than Kirby. This man was drawing comics that looked and dealt with issues a decade ahead of its time. He was a storytelling master, pioneer, hero, idol and inspiration…and he’s gone. I will never meet Joe Kubert, I will never tell him how much he inspired me and made me want to push myself. The legacy he left with his two sons and his art school is more than enough to get by on, but the comic medium is a bit emptier without him. Still, Joe Kubert will never truly be gone as long as his art and lessons remain.

Thanks for the memories Joe

Kiss Me Deadly

by Nick

Today, we have a picture from Chani, writer and artist of Midnight Radio. She drew this sexy picture after I tweeted: “If me and Hitler kiss, our mustaches wouldn’t touch.” She, then, asked if she could draw that, and I said “sure.” The finished result is an awesome, yet disturbing pic of Hitler making out with me. I can only hope that if you see this your penis/vagina will be filled with hate and joy. Hopefully, next time she can draw a picture of Napoleon raping Trevor.

To see more of Chani’s great work go to http://flavors.me/chani or look at her webcomic at http://midnightradio.smackjeeves.com/ and you can follow her @DevilsEngineer on twitter.

6 X 2 Questions with J. Babb The Creator of JBabb Comics

by James

Misoprostol online pharmacy JBabb comics is another web comic I recently found through Twitter and instantly fell for. how to get gabapentin online Jbabb has an old school feeling to it that makes me wish I could write as well as he does. His artwork reminds me of what a comic strip should look like with his well detailed panels that he sometimes brings to life with animation. Everything I like about webcomics is right here in Jbabb Comics. I can only see more greatness to come each week to come.

The OG: In 2010 what made you want to start doing a weekly comic?

I’ve always wanted to do comics – I’ve been doodling random comics and cartoons for as long as I can remember. Despite my love for it, I was really critical about my art. I didn’t finish much of my work, and I only showed what I did do to a few good friends.

Luckily, one of those good friends met up with me in early 2010. After a few beers and pleasantries, he gave me an ultimatum: Start a webcomic in less than a month (and don’t miss an update for at least a month after that), or he’d come to my house and beat me in my sleep (and yes, he was serious).

So there you have it: the threat of physical violence helped me get over whatever artistic fears I had and actually start my comic. Violence can be a pretty good motivational tool.

6 X 2 Questions with Kevin Coulston The Creator of Stale Bacon

by James

One does not read web comics without knowing of Stale Bacon by Kevin Coulston. Kevin’s comics are absurd joy that decimates pop culture with quick wit. His characters are simple humanoids that bare witness to many vulgar tragedies that other web comics may not tackle. Stale Bacon is over 300 comics strong and will continue to be on the forefront of comics in my opinion. I have read many a Stale Bacon comic and gotten pissed off at myself for not thinking of what he writes myself. Stale Bacon is easily on my top 10 list.
