Just Like Every Cowboy Sings His Sad, Sad Song
Ajdabiya I hope you all had a great 4th of July yesterday! Today’s comic, while certainly related to the holiday, also comes from a place of truth. This past semester in my Illustration class I had a professor who was a bit unusual. He would always suggest the oddest ways to improve any concept, usually making it look like an early 90’s advertisement. Today’s comic is inspired by a conversation I had after showing him the web comic. He told me that I should think about adding cowboys to the comic as a way to make it more patriotic and broaden our fan base. Apparently, the web comic crowd is dying for the Reagan years to return. Now, you ask why Abe looks so RADICAL MAN?! To quote my professor “Illustration used to have a lot of cool stuff like Sunglasses, baseball caps and skateboarding, it’s a shame really.” I think that’s an important lesson in life.
