Hello fam and MERRY WHATEVER YOU CELEBRATE. Here’s the thing. This is an OFAPZ tourney but it’s different. It’s about friends fighting other friends. Here’s the run down

-16 teams of 3 individual tweeters

-Each team needs to DM @theobscuregents to lock in their place. We need 3 @s and a team name for this.

-First theme will be given on Monday 12/5

-Each team will need to submit their tweets as per usual and tell me the order they are battling. So you’ll need an opener tweet a middle tweet and a closer.

-These tweets go against the other team in the order they submitted.

-The team that wins 2 of 3 moves on to the next round.

-There will be 3 winners total

The Grand Finale: Best of Three

Just a few short weeks ago, 128 foolhardy contestants lined up for our opening round. Today, it’s all down to just two. The judges want to take a moment to acknowledge the many brilliant, fresh and funny voices that were snuffed out tragically over the course of this contest. Sometimes, it was just the luck of the draw. Sometimes it was a heated debate that came down to one vote’s difference. And sometimes ya done fucked up, buddy. There’s always next time.

Enough of this maudlin voice-over, let’s name our winner! The championship is determined by a best-of-three battle. Here are your themes.

 

Theme 1: Tweet About Magic

Write a tweet involving the theme of Magic (the concept of supernatural abilities, spells and potions and wands, NOT the sporting team from the city of Orlando).

Submit the best tweet you think you’ve ever written (must have been originally posted before the current competition began).

All three of your tweets must be submitted to @theobscuregents to lock in your final round. The Theme 3 battle will only take place in the event of a tie.

A great man once said, “I tell you what, and I promise you this: You oughta be proud. You oughta be real proud.” That man’s name was Coach Taylor, and the team he led was known as the Friday Night Lights.
And here you are: the final four contestants in Obscure For A Penny Zero 9. Few have made it this far, and their names are inscribed in legend and burned into the memories of us all. We salute you, the guy with the beard. We will never forget you, the guy with the chopsticks in his avi. We stand in tribute to you, the lady who won a couple of years ago. Whomst among you will join them?
