Confirmation: it’s not racist to say “orient”. It’s just racist to say “orientation” when talking about Asians trying to convert non-Asians. But outside of comics, “mandarin collars” are actually short, straight collars.
As for the Amish discussion, it wouldn’t be too inaccurate to say they don’t wear mustaches because of the devil, Equinsu Ocha, and other elaborately mustachioed bringers of war.
